Seco Tools

A multi-national carbide tool manufacturer with an equal commitment to product quality, technical assistance, service levels and training, SECO Tools embarked on a training project for all staff at its Alcester office in Warwickshire. The aim of the training was to help ensure all staff had a benchmark IT knowledge level and to help formulate a better in house training system.

The main content for the training was designed for the following areas - Windows navigation. explorer/file management, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes, E-mail policies, calendar management and virus awareness. It was envisages that there would be a maximum of 2 days training for each delegate and delivery was on site at SECO offices. A Training Needs Analysis was provided initially to ensure that all training was delivered to the correct groups with similar abilities to maximise the delivery impact and training budget.

Three stage delivery

Computerworld were awarded the contract to provide the bespoke training to support this important investment. A three stage delivery plan was established and implemented with the support from SECO.

Stage 1 - A period of consultation and development was undertaken in order to design the training to meet exactly the business objectives. This included the production of tailored course materials.

Stage 2 - A tailored on-line Training Needs Analysis was utilised to capture individuals existing knowledge across the organisation. This was designed to highlight the delegates development areas in line with the core requirements of their job.

Stage 3 - Training delivery including course content design and tailored manuals. A full training plan was provided and individuals delegate course evaluation.
