North Wiltshire District Council took on the challenge of upgrading 400 staff from Office 97 to Office 2007. To prepare them for such a substantial upgrade, each member of staff would attend a 2 day course to familiarise themselves with the significantly new interface and features. Computerworld were pleased to be asked to submit a proposal.
Irene Docherty, North Wiltshire's Office 2007 Migration Project Manager, explained why she chose Computerworld:
During the tendering process we narrowed down the training providers from 11 to 3 finalists. Each of these companies was asked to provide a 2-day ‘Upgrade to Office 2007' course, and to deliver the course to a group of 8 staff who assessed them against our predefined criteria with weightings. Computerworld came out top by more than 100% from the other companies.
The healthy relationship between the Project Manager and the Training Manager throughout the project meant that any potential issues were dealt with quickly and professionally. North Wiltshire ensured that attendance levels were exceptionally high, and the smooth running of the software upgrade project itself ensured a positive attitude from delegates, making the training courses a pleasure to run for the team of five Computerworld trainers.
Irene Docherty gives her assessment of Computerworld's contribution:
The feedback has been outstanding. 88% of delegates rated the training very good or excellent. The staff feel that they are prepared for the future and more positive about it, as far as their skills go. We also tested our staff's knowledge levels before and after to verify [the knowledge transfer].
Computerworld's training manager works very hard to ensure that the team of trainers provide a consistent high quality. Having actually tested many companies by having them provide training, which I attended, I can vouch for the quality of their work.
If you are looking for a company that wants to provide a high-level of training, and work together to ensure that the training fits your own company's needs, then Computerworld is the right partner for you. They are a very professional organisation.
