[Event] Architect your network for the threats and demands of tomorrow

  • Williams F1 HQ Abingdon Oxfordshire (map)

Join our specialists and industry experts for an exclusive event.

We will be diving deep into the trends we are seeing within networking and security and explain how the technologies from both VMware and Dell will help you deliver a secure, flexible network.

Overview

We are seeing a paradigm shift within the industry, leading to greater demand to deliver IT, to any device, at any location, at any time. But also from any cloud, be it your internal data-centre or a cloud provider. This shift to a heterogeneous architecture brings a raft of security and management concerns, on top of this we are seeing increased pressure to protect our data, with highly publicised data leaks and incoming legislation aiming to protect personal data. When we build a network that is fit for today, it is no longer acceptable to simply protect our data at the edge when statistics prove that a majority of attacks come from within.

Join specialists from ComputerWorld, Dell and VMware as we explore how both open networking and network virtualisation are critical components for the network of today.

Introducing VMware NSX by Josh Coulling- Systems Engineer, VMware

I have worked in the world of Networking for much of my professional career. Several of my previous professional ventures has included, network consulting into the channel via a small channel services organisation, a tenure with Hewlett Packard Software where I was providing Pre-Sales Technical Consultant Support in the UK&I working with HP Software’s Automated Network Management Solution and most recently working with VMware fulfilling the role of Systems Engineer in the UK&I focussing on NSX.

VMware NSX is a paradigm shift in how organisations deploy networking & security services within the data center. Organisations look to deploy NSX to enable tighter & more granular security controls for lateral data center traffic, to drive automated provisioning of networking & security services and lastly to improve application & service stability and reliability.

NSX Session Agenda is as follows:

  1. What is NSX?
  2. NSX Use Cases
  3. Demonstration
  4. Integration with the physical world
  5. Case Studies / References
  6. New Licensing Model

Background

VMware NSX expands the virtualization layer from the physical layer of the server to the physical layer of the network and in consequence creates a logical framework above the physical infrastructure providing for several benefits:

  • Decoupling of network services from the physical infrastructure
  • Ease of network service deployment/migration/automation. Reduced provisioning/deployment time.
  • Scalable
