ComputerWorld has picked up the highly coveted award for ‘Best Online Marketing Innovation/Website’ for its Define Tomorrow website and events at the 2016 CRN Sales and Marketing Awards, one of the most prestigious annual award ceremonies within the industry.
The award is in recognition of the innovation behind ComputerWorld’s business IT thought-leadership brand, Define Tomorrow, whose event became the largest business-tech conference in the entire South West and was immediately recognised by a number of industry titans including Microsoft, Dell and VMware.
ComputerWorld worked closely with content marketing agency Vivid (who recently took away the award for ‘Marketing Campaign of the Year’ at the Bristol Post Business Awards for the same project) to create a multi-faceted, long-term marketing strategy that’s focussed on storytelling and the creation of engaging technology content for business leaders. ComputerWorld’s Define Tomorrow brand is made up of major events, webinars, videos, emails and a dedicated website – all of which didn’t exist a year ago.
Commenting on the award, ComputerWorld’s Operation Director Barry Coombs stated “Everyone at ComputerWorld is completely thrilled with the recognition that Define Tomorrow has so far received, but we’ve always considered the CRN Sales and Marketing awards to be one of the most important accolades within the industry, and also one of our favourite nights of the year, so this award is the highlight for us”. Adding “Our approach has always been that great marketing is simply great storytelling, it’s about understanding your audience and sharing knowledge in a way that captivates and inspires. That was the guiding principle behind Define Tomorrow and I feel winning this award is testament to that”.
